About the Band

South Louisiana's premiere adult community band since 1982, the Lafayette Concert Band is proud to be the 1999 recipient of the John Philip Sousa Foundation's Sudler Silver Scroll, North America's most prestigious award for community concert band excellence. The Lafayette Concert Band was a featured performing group at the 2001 National Convention of the Association of Concert Bands in Pensacola on March 30, 2001. LCB also hosted the 1997 National Convention of the Association of Concert Bands in Lafayette.

The Lafayette Concert Band provides it's members with musical growth and makes significant contributions to the cultural life of Lafayette and Acadiana. The LCB performs several concerts throughout the season from traditional and contemporary pieces to more informal "pops" and outdoor concerts.
